The Best Neighborhoods Los Angeles for Families

August 9, 2021 by Andrea Fonseka

If you are trying to move somewhere in Southern California that suits your sensibilities, when moving to California it’s important to keep in mind that there are plenty of neighborhoods to choose from. Los Angeles is a star-studded city that has just about every industry and attractions you can think of such as whale watching Los Angeles.

It also happens to be one of the finest cities in the state for families. Since the city is so spread apart and eclectic, you should take it upon yourself to do some legwork when finding the best LA neighborhoods for families.

So which options should you choose from? We’re happy to offer some guidance.

Below are some of the best neighborhoods Los Angeles has to offer.

Elysian Park aka “Frogtown”

If you love art, creativity, and nature, the Elysian Valley neighborhood has just what you’re looking for.  This area, commonly referred to as Frogtown, is on the upswing thanks in large part to a billion-dollar renovation project for the nearby Los Angeles River.

This neighborhood is diverse and filled with lots of art shows, festivals, restaurants, parks, walking and biking trails, and so much more.

Baldwin Hills

The Baldwin Hills neighborhood has long been renowned for being one of the most historically affluent predominantly African American neighborhoods in the country. It’s in close proximity to several parts of the city, which makes it a great spot for anyone that enjoys this efficiency.

You will also love the fact that Baldwin Hills has some of the best views in the city. You’ll be able to enjoy some hiking trails that let you overlook the City of Angels in all of its glory.

Pasadena

While technically its own city, Pasadena is situated just 11 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and is one of the best places for families to live in Southern California. This Los Angeles County city has lots of culture, safe neighborhoods, and plenty of nature and views.

There are excellent schools in the area, and the Rose Bowl stadium is one of the most iconic college football landmarks in the country.

Sherman Oaks

This neighborhood is situated in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. It gives you the prestige and glory of Los Angeles, with more of a laid-back, neighborhood vibe.

Unlike some other areas of the city, you won’t have to worry about paying for parking just to go to the grocery store or your other errands.

Silver Lake

Finally, Silver Lake is an excellent place to live for people that love fresh air and the great outdoors. The neighborhoods are safe, and there are plenty of trails for walking and biking.

Once you’ve found a neighborhood that you love, you can check out these homes for sale by scheduling a visit.
