Hey, if you have a strong itch to play a few games and bet some money, you are in the right place. You don’t have to blow a good chunk of your capital just to have some fun. In fact, casinos and gambling are notorious for draining a lot of money from people’s pockets, but it doesn’t have to be that way. You can manage your money well, and still, enjoy yourself here and there.
And even if you’ve got plenty of cash you are ready to spend at your time away from home, wouldn’t you rather spend it at the table with a chance of increasing your fortune? I bet you do want to. In this post, we are going to discuss how to arrange the best possible “holiday” for you, how to save a bit of money for your preferred allocation, and where exactly to do that.
Las Vegas
It might be surprising for some of you, but this lavish and luxurious retreat of all risk-takers doesn’t actually have to break your bank. The Strip is a place every poker player is dreaming of, and for a good reason. Its seemingly endless line of billion-dollar casino facilities is an allure like no other. They line up one right after another, and your eyes may be running back-and-forth deciding where to pay a visit.
Whatever you are looking for in Sin City, it can offer you just that twenty-four hours around the clock. If that’s a gaming table or an abundance of slot machines, there is an infinite supply of that in the city center. It absolutely seems logical that it’s exactly the place where you would want to stay. Right? It does seem optimal, but in reality that depends on your personal demands.
Do budget hotels actually exist in this high-cost city? We tested a bunch of them and arrived at a few solid conclusions. Here is what they are:
- Know The Best Time And Dates To Arrive
There isn’t actually a prime season in Las Vegas, unlike other popular destinations such as Paris or London. But there are a few caveats that will help you save a ton of money. The first thing is weekends are always more expensive than weekdays. And just so you catch the drift, the price difference can be as much as four times between Monday and Friday.
You just might save all the money you want by applying this first tip. But if you want to go even further than that, be wary of US holidays, both major ones such as Christmas time, and less known ones for foreigners such as Spring Break. There are also plenty of festivals and more official events planned there all the time, so it will be the best bet to avoid planning your trip during that as well.
- Be More Flexible, Location-Wise
There are a few dozen grand hotels located on the Strip, but if you only limit yourself to them, well, you are limiting your options for no good reason. Even if you are limited on time, it might be smarter and more financially sound to go a bit further. If it’s not peak hour on the road, you can take a bus anywhere for just under ten bucks. And if they are tighter, just call a cab and call it a day. You will spend extra on transportation, but cut significantly on hotels.
If you are not sure what are the best choices when it comes to the location-distance trade-off, check out an article my long-time friend from Qatar wrote. We always go on our casino-voyage, and we never missed it with the hotels. You can find it on his blog at arabicvegas.com, and with a few-second translation in your browser, it’s a worthy read.
- Make A Bargain
Now that you are settled-location-wise and choice-wise, proceed to get the best deal that’s out there. Thanks to technology, you don’t actually have to call around the hotels and ask them to cut the price, although that might still work even in 2021. There are a multitude of booking websites out there, smaller and large-scale ones. Shop around, and find the best price that you can. Many times, the difference adds up. Some may charge fifty dollars less per day, and if you do the math for 5 days, that’s already 250 dollars you could spend at the table.
If the hotel and the booking website are offering similar pricing, call up the hotel management and ask if they can offer you a better room or an upgrade for three. Many of them appreciate going directly and grant loyalty programs memberships or other freebies. Check out this piece for more tips on getting the most out of your booking.
