- 39th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference 2021
Financial services giant JP Morgan’s conference on healthcare took place from January 11–14 this year. This conference is one of the largest in the industry. It boasts 400+ attending firms and 8000 participants each year.
Due to COVID, the conference took place virtually. J.P. Morgan provided webcasted presentations from companies like Roivant Sciences.
Former CMS administrator Andy Slavitt, Pfizer President Angela Hwang, and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice also spoke at the conference.
J.P. Morgan’s conference is ideal for all healthcare industry leaders. It attracts technology manufacturers, growing healthcare companies, and even industry investors.
Don’t miss out on J.P. Morgan’s 40th annual conference, which will take place on January 10–13, 2022. As of this writing, J.P. Morgan plans to hold its 2022 conference in person in San Francisco, California.
- Health Datapalooza and National Health Policy Conference
Health Datapalooza was another virtual healthcare conference held this year. It took place on February 16–18, 2021.
This event brought together the important issues of health information and US health policy. Conference themes included:
- The essential role of patient health data during COVID
- Arising threats to the security of protected health information
- How healthcare analytics are informing policy
Many keynote speakers came from the intersection of the political arena and the healthcare industry. State senator Dr. Bill Cassidy and White House COVID Response Team Vaccine Coordinator Bechara Choucair gave presentations.
The date for 2022’s Health Datapalooza and National Health Policy Conference has yet to be set.
- RISE National 2021
RISE is the nation’s leading conference on Medicare Advantage and the ACA marketplace. In 2021, the conference took place virtually from March 28–30.
This conference is an excellent opportunity for Medicare and Medicaid plan administrators, health systems, healthcare providers, and more.
The theme for the 2021 conference was learning how to reduce risk and increase the quality of care for Medicare members. Speakers included President Biden’s advisor Dr. Ezekial Emanuel and healthcare futurist Ian Morrison.
Pre-registration is open now for RISE 2022 on March 7-9. Unlike this year, the conference will be held in person in Nashville, Tennessee.
- GW Digital Health Summit
George Washington University held its very first Digital Health Summit this year. The virtual conference took place online from April 14–16, 2021.
The conference’s goal was to examine the explosion of healthcare innovation that arose during the pandemic.
Presenters spoke on current digital technologies on the market. They also identified gaps where further innovation could occur. Keynote speakers included Google Health’s Chief Health Officer and Humana’s Chief Digital Health and Analytics Officer.
George Washington University hasn’t announced the dates for its 2022 summit yet.
- World Health Care Congress
World Health Care Congress’ 17th annual conference will take place on June 8–10 this year. Despite looser COVID restrictions, the conference will be fully virtual.
The theme of this year’s congress is how to prepare providers and other industry leaders to respond to the pandemic.
This conference attracts a diverse range of attendees. Last year’s conference-goers included health care systems, payers, investors, policymakers, big pharma, and even employers.
A similarly varied group of speakers will present at this year’s conference. Executives from ARC Fertility, Anthem, Premier, Precision Medicine, and Healthify are only a few of the exciting speakers planned to present.

- America’s Health Insurance Plans Institute & Expo
America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) will hold a virtual expo this year on June 22–24. AHIP is the country’s largest conference exclusively for health insurance providers.
As such, keynote speakers will come from the US’s leading payers. Cigna’s President and CEO David Cordani and Charlene Maher, CEO of Blue Cross of Idago, are only two of the speakers expected to present.
In 2021, the conference’s themes will include:
- Equitable health improvement and prevention of inequitable services
- Improving care delivery and value
- Disruptive products that can help meet transforming patient needs
As with many healthcare conferences this year, AHIP’s expo will also focus on the technology and trends arising in the industry.

- 2021 AHA Leadership Summit and Virtual Conference
The American Hospital Association (AHA) will hold its annual leadership summit virtually this year. It will take place from July 28–29, 2021.
Themes for the AHA Leadership Summit will revolve around remaining resilient about and responding to crises. Of course, the recent pandemic inspired this theme.
Speakers and attendees will come from a range of spaces. Health system executives and clinicians, as well as other high-level industry experts, will be featured. Trustees and future health care leaders are encouraged to attend.
The AHA has yet to announce all of its keynote speakers. So far, we know that Anna Deavere Smith and Josh Linkner will give presentations to kick off the two-day event.

- HIMSS 21
HIMSS is a global conference and one of the largest and most established healthcare technology events in the world. It attracts over 75,000 attendees and has been ongoing for the past 60 years.
This year’s event will take place from August 9–13. It will be a hybrid in-person and virtual event. Event-goers can choose to attend sessions at the Las Vegas, Nevada-based venue. Or you can register for a digital-only pass.
HIMSS 2021 will attract a range of industry players. Fast-growth company Chief Information Officers and other senior technology executives, providers and payers, and even IT vendors and consultants will be in attendance.
2021 keynote speakers will present on themes like population health, technology innovation, policy, and leadership in healthcare.

- HLTH 2021
HLTH is a 4-day conference bringing together the industry’s top leadership. Insurance companies, providers, plan sponsors, investors, startups, and more will convene on October 17–21 in Boston for this year’s event.
The 2021 conference will focus on a variety of themes, including, but not limited to, the following:
- The increasing importance of healthcare data
- Recent advancements in the life sciences fields
- How care delivery models are changing due to technology, in-home care, wellness trends, and the rise of value-based care models
- COVID’s and the new Administration’s impact on health policy

- Healthcare Financial Management Association Annual Conference
The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) will hold its annual conference on November 8–10, 2021. HFMA is a business-oriented group touting itself as healthcare’s leading finance organization.
HFMA serves members in spaces from healthcare finance to individual physician practices. You can expect to see these types at the 2021 conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Presentations will focus on cutting costs in healthcare, the revenue cycle, and how health systems can promote financial sustainability.
Conference speakers will also cover trending topics like data and analytics and emerging digital technologies.
HFMA’s 2021 conference will feature speakers Robert Pearl of Stanford University, journalist Celeste Headlee, and former US Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin.
Next year’s HFMA conference will take place from June 26–29, 2022 in Denver, Colorado.
