What is a work-life balance?

One-third of employees said this was the most difficult part of establishing a work-life balance.

2. Workplace responsibilities have increased:
Approximately half of the millennials and Gen X participants cited more job responsibilities as a major factor in poor work-life balance.

3. Domestic responsibilities have increased:
With increased obligations at home, more than 40% of millennials and Gen X respondents said combining work and personal life is more challenging.

4. Working longer hours:
Nearly half of managers (46%) work more than 40 hours each week, with 40% reporting that their working hours have grown in the previous five years.

5. Becoming a parent:
More than a quarter of millennials (26%) feel that having a kid makes them work harder. Following the birth of the child, 50% of women and 22% of men put their careers on hold.
