It should come as no surprise that strategy is critical in FGO. A crucial choice, for example, is whether to employ damage-increasing buster attacks or critically increasing rapid strikes over noble phantom-unlocking techniques. Logging in daily will also help you complete assignments and earn incentives. In the end, however, to win, you’ll need the best heroic spirits on your side, and with over 400 to choose from, it may be difficult. Here are the eight most powerful servants in Fate/Grand Order to help you build your perfect team! With them on your list, you will not lose any match and every game you’ll play is sure to win. Don’t hesitate to pick them when the time comes you need to choose.
1. Merlin
Merlin is the first on the FGO servant list. King Arthur’s illustrious instructor lives up to his renown and then some, giving incredible assistance to buster-oriented squads in particular. His first two abilities give an aggro unit with the increased attack, critical rate, critical damage, NP refills, and temporary vulnerability.
His third ability, Hero Creation, affects just one ally but significantly increases their buster damage, maximum HP, and critical strength. With his NP boosts, it shouldn’t be long until you acquire Garden of Avalon, which deals no damage but gradually restores your team’s HP and NP. In brief, employ another servant to do real damage to enemies while Merlin provides them with almost every buff available.
2. Scathach-Skadi
Scathach’s damage output is limited, but she counters with amazing support focused on rapid strikes and NP boosts. Her Primordial Rune ability significantly boosts an ally’s fast strength and critical damage, increasing their offensive potential. Shivering Blizzard reduces the crit rate and defense of enemies, but Allfather’s Wisdom significantly increases the NP gauge of any ally.
This may be used on Scathach directly to rapidly activate the Gate of Skye. It does no damage, but provides critical strength, evasion, and death resistance to the whole squad, making it unexpectedly lethal.
3. Zhuge Liang (El-Melloi II)
Waver Velvet transforms into this lethal servant, whose many boosts energize any squad. Two of his abilities have a team-wide effect, boosting defense, attack, and the NP meter. These are incredible boosts, and Zhuge’s own NP is very good; it does not do immediate damage, but does deal damage over time through the curse, reduces defense and opponent NP charge, and has a chance to stun for around. Zhuge’s only shortcoming is a lack of recovery, but as long as an ally can give it, he is a wonderful boost for prolonged battles.
4. Tamamo-no-Mae
Tamamo has a clear vision for her team: arts-based squads that will assist her in using her Noble Phantasm regularly. When overcharged, it offers massive team-wide healing increases, skill cooldown reductions, and enhanced NP meters. When combined with her Fox Blessing ability, which grants an ally a three-turn boost to their arts efficiency, you may quickly release and repeat your trio’s Noble Phantasms. Tamamo is less effective in buster and fast groups, but she is undoubtedly one of the game’s finest heroic spirits when she is in her zone.
5. Altria Pendragon (Archer)
While fans may scoff at the notion of servant variations dressed in beach clothing, Altria’s archer form demonstrates that they are just as capable, if not more so. As with Nero, Altria shines as a support and damage dealer, particularly with her amazing ability to repeat her Noble Phantasm, which strikes a single opponent, lowers their NP gauge, and partly replenishes her own NP gauge if supercharged.
Furthermore, she’s a team player as well, due to abilities that increase the efficiency of everyone’s attack, resistance, and arts, further boosting her NP looping. My only criticism is that her heal skill Beach House Protection (yep, that is its name) reduces her NP gauge, but that is a minor quibble on an otherwise excellent unit.
6. Nero Claudius (Bride)
Not to be mistaken with her other guises, Nero Bride functions as a valuable support unit as well as a formidable damage-dealer. Although her abilities are limited to a single ally, they provide beneficial buffs that heal and boost NP gain, crit stat drops, assault, and armor!
If she decides to boost her own NP gauge, she will rapidly access her amazing Caelestis ultimate, which does massive damage to a single target while also inflicting burn, decreased defense, and decreased crit rate. As with Achilles, her adaptability allows her to fit into almost any squad.
7. Achilles
Achilles’ highly muscular beginning stats give him an early edge since he is a powerhouse as well as a tank. He is extremely good at delivering rapid blows, and since he strikes so often, the Diatrekhn Astr Lonkh talent quickly fills his NP gauge. This allows him to unleash Troias, a devastating ultimate that vaporizes all opponents, fast and often.
Andreíos Amárantos is Achilles’ defensive weapon, which gives him temporary invincibility followed by the enhanced defense. The Greek hero has few weaknesses; like other riders, he is weaker against archers (as befits his famed heel) but strong against casters, of whom there will be many.
8. Jack the Ripper
While Assassins may not have the same damage output as other classes, they do have other advantages. In the case of Jack, it is her unmatched critical-star accumulation, which is arguably the greatest in the game. Quick chains with her may collect over 40 of them, almost guaranteeing your team criticals on the next round. Despite her preference for rapid attacks over artistic techniques, Jack also swiftly replenishes her NP meter, making her an effective boss killer.
If your opponent is a woman, her NP Maria will do an extra 2 damage to her, making Jack an excellent choice to swap in and out depending on your opponent’s gender.
What’s More?
We have seen the most valuable troops in the game today, but other than Mash, unlocking them would require money or resources. Every day, you receive some free summons, but they only work for 3-star slaves; obtaining the actual rewards needs Saint Quartz. You’ll gradually but steadily accumulate it by logging inconsistently, doing daily tasks, and progressing the narrative, and after you’ve accumulated enough, you may spend it on random higher-star slaves.
